Adding or Removing Search Partners and Display Expansion in Google Ads Campaigns

Review Google Ads account performance every two weeks over 16 weeks by campaign. Identify issues and link them to changes in the change history tab to optimize performance.

Objective:

To adjust the settings in Google Ads campaigns by adding or removing Search Partners and Display Network to optimize for cheaper clicks and impressions.

Key Steps:

  1. Go to Google Ads and navigate to the Campaigns section.
  2. Click on the campaign you want to adjust.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Go to Networks.
  5. To remove Search Partners or Display Network:
    • Uncheck the boxes next to Search Partners and Display Network.
    • Click Save.
  6. To add Search Partners or Display Network:
    • Check the boxes next to Search Partners and Display Network.
    • Click Save.
  7. Start with testing Search Network first before trying Display Network to assess performance.
  8. Review the campaign after about two weeks to evaluate effectiveness.
  9. If the network is not performing well after two weeks, consider turning it off.

Cautionary Notes:

  • Testing Search Network first is recommended before adding Display Network.
  • If Search Network does not perform well, Display Network may not yield better results.
  • Focus on testing one network at a time to allocate budget effectively.
  • Regularly review campaign performance to make informed decisions.
